Silver Mist

My sweet silver!

On the Disney Fairy movies - each Fairy has a talent.  The Fairy with a Water Talent is named SilverMist.
Silver says, "Hey, that's like me!!  My name is Silver and I LOVE water!"
She got such a kick out of the above flower.  She would fill it up with water and when she pinched the stem the water would stay - making it look like a ball of water.  She would then let the stem go and the water would drain out.  She was so excited that she could control the water droplets!  JUST like SilverMist!

She has taken it as her personal job (along with keeping the entry clean) to water all the flowers.
This was the perfect Christmas present for me - Thank you Shado!

It has been so fun this year with Silver!   We have some great times just her and I while River is at school and Summer is at nap!

Silver decided to plant Lilacs so she could have lilac bushes!

I love her energy, entheusiasm for life and excitement to learn new things!

There is a water park near the St George Library.
It is SO much fun and we go every chance we get.  Sometimes Daddy goes for meetings and we join him for the ride and then splash until he is ready to head back home.  He always ends up getting the short end of that stick!  He works very hard for our family!

Silver LOVED the carousel at Disneyland.  We found one just next to the water park in St George!  This was Silver's favorite!

Summer petting her horse

River on her "American" horse!

Silver graduated from PreSchool.
L-R:  Silver, Brennan, Shelby and Austin
The ones going to Kindergarten got the graduation caps.  Silver still has another year home with Mommy!  She was very well behaved this year and her teacher always told me how quickly she grasped concepts and was very very obedient every day!

Silver and her teacher Mary Anne.  She is doing a presentation on koalas.

Land Mine FHE

I have enjoyed the  book

Why?: Powerful Answers and Practical Reasons for Living LDS StandardsThe authors also have a How?  Companion book called "Essential skills for living the gospel"
This link will take you to both the why and the how sites:  http://ldswhy.com/

They are geared for teenagers and brings up answers to questions about the gospel.  I have enjoyed showing pictures to the girls and using them for Family Night Discussions.
One night we talked about mine fields (Why book)
It was made especially close to home as my Grandpa Opa had to drag his sister across mine fields from Germany to Switzerland after World War II.  We talked about how scary it would be to have to cross something that you knew had mines in it, but you didn't know where they were.  Then if they were marked for you, it would still be tricky and you would have to go slowly, but you could avoid them.

Summer making her way across the mine field
We talked about how life has sins, temptations and mistakes and how we can know what is right and wrong - the mine fields are marked!!  We have scriptures, prophets, and parents, teachers and extended family too that love us and will teach us so that we can safely cross!

Silver's turn

River

Even Daddy got in on the fun

We then talked about how we have a straight and narrow way that we don't have to risk falling over by tiptoeing around!  We can walk confidently down the middle knowing that we are heading in the direction that the Lord would have us go.  Heavenly Father has a plan and he wants us to return to him, he has showed us the way and clearly marked it for us by the example of his Son and continuing revelation to the Prophets.  Follow the Prophet!"

We then blindfolded them and had the walk to straight and narrow with two voices:
Daddy tried to steer them off-course and Mommy was the Holy Ghost who told them which direction to go and how to course-correct if they were headed for the edge!

Oh What FUN!  The girls LOVED it and wanted to do it over and over again :)

We then pulled out our Armor of God and had them sing Scripture Power and deflect the darts of the adversary with their shields!

Quote Board

Silver: I'm the picker! And I pick.....ME!!!

I LOVE pregnancy! I can sleep and that outweighs ALL other effects. I only have 10 more weeks and wish the sleep could somehow last longer - this pregnancy has gone by WAY too fast! I fall asleep quickly and stay asleep - and it usually is deep sleep! What a Blessing from Heaven!!

River knocks on our door at 4 in the morning last night with a bad dream. I try pushing up through the layers of sleep and invite her to come cuddle with me and tell me about it. I'm drifting in and out (which for me NEVER happens without pregnancy - I would usually be awake when she knocked or so light that I couldn't go back to sleep) once she finishes pouring out her soul and all her fears, my profound motherly advice and gentle comfort is "flush it down the toilet!!" I'm glad Colt had better counsel for her. The next morning Colt and I had a good laugh about it.

There are 2 important numbers for Summer: 1 = this means just one. As in just one popsicle or just one Curious George. I'll say just one, and she'll say "deal!" Or I'll say just one, and she'll say 3, please, please 3! 3 = anything more than 1. She always holds up 3 fingers: 3 times MOM! As in push me more times on the swing, or let's read more stories! Today we went to pick up River from school and I told them they had 5 minutes to play on the school playground. Summer says "Please 3 minutes!! Look at my fingers MOM! Like this: (Holding up 3 fingers!)

Silver: I'm like a camera!! She goes on to explain that she can remember what she sees. When we see something, it goes "click" and then I can see it again later in my memory!

Silver's Prayer: Please bless my Mom so she can run again!!" I am no longer able to race Silver around with pregnancy. Silver LOVES to run and especially race, and it has been sad for her that I can't do that anymore.

Silver asked for a fork to eat her pizza with. I answered that she could go get one out of the drawer. Silver: "I can't!! My legs are asleep already!"

I ask the girls before bed each night what their favorite part of the day was. Their answer: Spending time with my family!
