The girls room turned out really cute!
So we had the pink on the bottom portion of the wall that the girls painted themselves, white on the top with a horse wallpaper inbetween. Silver on her windowsill.
Silver chose the bed by the window so she could see outside! She loves sitting on the sill.
As I was taking pictures of their room, she said "You HAVE to take a picture of the VIEW!!" That is one of the best perks of living here - having the view of horses!!!
Silver infront of the Salt Lake Temple.
Temples are the castles I would like them to dream about!
I asked them to pick the stuffed animal they like the most for their picture infront of the temple. Here is Silver with her Panda Bear "Bamboo" from Shado!
River with her "Mr. Carrots"
I asked River what her 2 fingers on each hand meant....I don't know she says, kids at my school just do it.
Summer in her crib.
She was SO excited to have her OWN crib when we moved here. At our old house it just didn't really work for her playpen to be set up in the girl's bedroom. She had her playpen in my closet. She felt like such a BIG grownup girl to have her own crib!
The horse wallpaper went all the way around the room and lasted for about a week. Summer tore down all the paper she could reach around her crib after nap one day!
Summer's most special things: Her Curious George and her blue giraffe sippy - she finally transitioned from a bottle to these sippy's - I found them at WalMart and REALLY like them!
In her crib with George and Nemo!
Nemo is Summer's FAVORITE!

Right: Silver's Bed
River with her most important things:
Mr Carrots - Colt and I took her to the SanDiego Zoo when she was around 2. She LOVED the polar bears - they were so much fun to watch swimming around and they were feeding them carrots in the water while we were there. They would dive after the carrots and then hold on to them with their front paws and eat them. I found Mr. Carrots not too long after that and they've been inseparable ever since. She sleeps with Mr. Carrots every night - he keeps all the bad dreams away!
She also has the big plaid pillow that she loves to sleep on cause it's so soft and her purple butterfly blanket that is oh so soft. Underneath her is "Pink Blankie" She got this when she was only a few months old from one of my friends from College. She has packed this around with her everynight and on every trip. We sew up the holes that it gets from so much love!
We also have purple bunny and Daisy the cow and her pink scripture bag that says "CTR" on it. It's sweet that her scriptures was one of her most important things!
Silver's corner includes: On the bottom: Purple butterfly blankie that is oh so soft and matches River's. Cheetah Pillow, cheetah blankie and cheetah stuffed animal. Cheetah's are her FAVORITE! The other blanket is our "Froggie Blanket" from Grandpa. This is really Summer's but Silver has adopted it as her own and it is pretty special to her! We have Teddy and Pig, Panda, Unicorn, Puppy and Bunny. She has always loved her stuffed animals and tucks them in everynight. She gives them pillows and uses dishtowels for their blankies. She takes really good care of her babies. When she gets to sleep in the front room or on the floor in a "nest" she pretty soon has all her stuffed animals tucked in around her too!
Summer in the window sill. They love to jump off the sill and onto the bed.
This was a neat New Years Eve activity with Grammie and River: We put a sticker on the locations of all the temples throughout the world.
Here we have stickers for all the temples in the US.
One of my favorite spots in our house!
I love the flag hanging in our home.
The little chairs are too cute!
Family room before
Entrance Before:
We made the entrance quite a bit longer and put down cherry laminate.
It turned out really nice with the textured walls and the dark trim!
Our mission and graduation wall.
Top: our diplomas from BYU - we were able to graduate together.
Bottom Row: Colt's Mission Plaque - Mexico City with a picture of the missionaries.
My Mission Plaque: Slovenia, Ljubliana/ Croatia, Zagreb Mission.
A plate from Croatia.
Above our music cabinet - This globe has been SO great!
It is interactive with a pen that the kids can learn facts about people and places and animals of the world. It also has a place where they can take tests and learn the countries and continents. The best feature is songs - 2 songs for each country, their national anthem and local music. It is neat to explore the world through music! It is a BIG world out there and I like to expose our children to as much culture as possible.
My Christmas gift to Colt. These pictures needed to be on the wall and enjoyed and stories shared instead of in a shoe box. These are pictures from when Colt and I were dating and a few from when we were newly-weds. The picture in the middle was taken on a train - the Heber Creeper. Colt invited me to a dance on the train. We went out to dinner first and doubled with his roommate Andres. It was a nice evening as the train wound through the mountains and the moon reflected off the Provo River. A woman on the train drew this for us, I was so impressed that she could draw like this on a moving/jostling train! The picture of us from that night is the one just to bottom right of the drawing.
Our engagement night, dances, dinners with roommates, hikes, double dates, Star, Mana, Andres, Robin, Josh. Very good memories.
All because two people fell in love....
This is another of my absolute favorites!
Colt found this on a back street in Tijuana, Mexico. He went back to his Mexico about a year after his mission to visit those he knew there when he was walking along the street and saw this in a little shop. The shop owner didn't know who it was a picture of and asked Colt about him. Colt was able to tell him the story of Joseph Smith and about the church.......The Ends of the Earth shall inquire after his name.
We have our missionary name tags below.
On our piano - the topper of our wedding cake!
What a blessing to have an eternal focus to our family!
This has to be my favorite nook of our house!
Pictures and Music mean so much to me, and I love the saying "Family, one of God's masterpieces"
sandwiched in between great art masterpiece and a great instrument that has and will see many great masterpieces played. Colt and I picked out this picture on our trip to Greece. I love the vibrancy, colors and energy of this piece. It also reminds me of my mission with the Adriatic Sea and the red roofs.
Sunce i More: Sun and Sea
Whew! There was A LOT of work that went into this house, but in the end, we made a house a home and the space our own.
Our family truly is a masterpiece, and we work on it everyday.
We are preparing for eternity as this life is the time to prepare to meet God. We will help our kids to see how they fit in the grand scheme of things!
DISCLAIMER: No, Our house does not Always look like this. While scrolling through this post Colt says "Wow! Where is this place? I want to move there!!" It took me 5 months to put this post together cleaning one area at a time for each picture :)
I had to smile when you said it took 5 months to put this post together because that is the real reason I haven't posted our "house tour" post yet is because the whole house is NEVER clean ALL AT ONCE. I can only have one clean room at a time, it seems. And it's okay, it's all progress. Thanks for the candid reality check! I LOVE the blue in the picture above the piano. It really makes it alive. I don't know, it just POPS! and I say I LOVE IT! everytime I look at the picture. The house looks great. Keep it up!
