Adventures in Art

When you do art projects as much as we do, there are bound to be some spills and messes.
Here are a few of ours:
Brought to you by:   Summer Echo!
Permanent Marker on my computer monitor.
Yikes!
Thank my lucky stars I have an amazing stain remover that disolves permanent marker!!  (Sol-U-Mel by Melaleuca available sometimes on ebay)  It brought it right off!

We have a fun spin art maker that spins a piece of paper.  As the paper spins you squeeze paint onto the paper creating a swirled splattered effect.  Way fun!
Silver was trying to squirt her paint out and it wasn't coming.  I dug around a bit (pushing the lump of paint further in) and it started coming out until the lump clogged the spout again.  After a couple times of stuck paint - I put the paint tip up and squeezed gently - thinking I could get that bothersome piece of lumpy paint out of the tube.  As it didn't come out with gentle pressure, I sqeezed harder.
*Sigh*
The bottle says "Simply Washable Paint"  As I scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed the wall and ceiling - I thought:  why does this not wash off if it says washable?  Reading the fine print on the bottle says that it is only washable on surfaces that are meant to be washed.  I guess a wall does not fit into that category?
We still have a lovely pink stripe down our wall :)

Way fun!
Take a piece of paper - preferably large - and squrt paint on it.
Fold the paper in half and squish the paint around.

Super cool effects
On hair too!
Brought to you by:  Excited Friends!
We had friends over and they did these art projects with us.
One friend lifted up her paper showing us what a pretty job she did and shared the paint job with River :)

Summer in the background starting the bath water :)
I love pictures of Summer - she is such a little kid that can do so many things - she is so petite and tiny and tries to hard to keep up with her sisters.  Tonight the girls set up a chair by the couch.  Climbed onto the chair, then onto the arm of the couch, then jumped to the couch and off to couch cushions on the floor.  They did this over and over and Summer was right there with them bailing off the couch on the cushions and giggling and proud to be right there with them.

This one is a mess clean up!
When the windows need cleaned (frequently with little smudges and handprints) the girls draw on the windows with washable markers and then when done they get to wash off all their drawings - cleaning the windows while they are at it.  :)

After wiping the windows down we have handprints!

We'll end today with the bathroom rules.
River likes to have rules and to make sure everyone knows the rules.
When she was small she came to me one day saying that she needed a pen.  I gave her one and she produced the above sign.  I asked her what it said:
Don't pee on the floor and don't poo in the tub!
This was prompted by little sisters :)

Once she learned how to write she needed to update her sign!
She turned it around and wrote out the rules so everyone would understand our house rules!
